February 2013 Was Close to Average For Temperature and Snow

Snowfall last month barely nudged above the average. For the winter season, the total it’s nearly 3 feet below average. However, at this time last year, it was more than 5 feet below average.

Oswego Children Injured When Vehicle Strikes School Bus

Six elementary school students, five from Kingsford Park and one from the Oswego Community Christian School,  were transported by Oswego City and Menter ambulances as the result of a school bus-pick up truck accident early Monday morning.

Hundreds Help To Take The Bite Out Of EEE

On Saturday, family and friends of Maggie Sue Glenister Wilcox staged the first-ever “Be Aware ‘Cause It’s Rare… Fight EEE” fundraising event. Held in memory of the young girl who died from EEE in 2011, the event raised awareness as well as funds to fight the disease.

New Haven VFD To Honor 60-Year Veteran

Norm Fischer turned 18 in January 1953 and joined the New Haven Volunteer Fire Department. February marked the 60th anniversary of his continued service to the department, which he actually was a part of right from the very beginning – even though he was too young to officially join.

Altmar Man Charged with Grand Larceny

State Police in Lee arrested Justin K. Empson, 23, from 9 Chinook Lane in Altmar, NY, for Grand Larceny 4th degree, a class “E” felony. Empson was charged after he allegedly attempted to steal $1,214.43 in merchandise from the Walmart Store in Rome.
