UPDATE: The cause of the house fire early this morning at 195 West Eighth St. appears to be unattended food left on the stove, Chief Jeff McCrobie said. The structure is a total loss, he added. The lone resident at home at the time got out of the building along with a dog. He was being treated at the hospital.
State Senator Patty Ritchie is applauding Governor Andrew Cuomo’s call for building on the progress of the past two years to create more jobs and continue economic growth, following Wednesday’s State of the State address in Albany. David Hawthorne was sworn in Tuesday night as Fulton’s next City Court Judge.
The swearing-in was ceremonial; Hawthorne has already begun work. He joked that the first few days had been a “trial by fire” and thanked the court staff for being patient with him.

If there was a basic life support ambulance coming in from somewhere with an advanced life support patient, they’d request a link, Oswego Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie explained. The city would bill the other ambulance service for assistance.
