Oswego City Police have made an arrest as a result of the investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred on September 28 at approximately 2:50 a.m. in the area of West First and Bridge streets.

The Oswego County Health Department will offer flu shots for children ages 6 months to 18 years old at their regularly scheduled immunization clinics beginning Oct. 9. Clinics are held every Tuesday at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, Oswego, and the first and third Tuesdays of every month at the H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse, Pulaski.

Former Oswego Mayor John Gosek lost his appeal to lower his sex offender designation. The State Appellate Division, which is the state’s second highest court, upheld a lower court ruling that gave Gosek a level 2 designation.

An early morning crash at West Bridge and First streets has sent four people to the hospital, including a pedestrian. Details of how the crash, which happened around 2:50 a.m. today (Sept. 28), are still being sorted out. The injuries are believed to not be life threatening.

The New York State Police in Oswego County conducted an underage drinking enforcement detail in Oswego County on Thursday. Several businesses were checked. One person was charged with a class B Misdemeanor, Unlawfully Dealing with a Child for allegedly completing the sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor under the age of 21.

Those that have survived it say the key to avoiding a negative diagnosis is early detection. “Even if you don’t think you’re a candidate, get screened anyway. You just never know,” a cancer survivor said.
