Two speakers addressed the legislators at Wednesday’s special meeting to set public hearings for proposed local laws regarding synthetic drugs. The speakers had polar opposite opinions on the subject.
Subsequent to a traffic stop and investigation at the scene, Todd M. Foster 48, of Fulton, the driver and only occupant, was arrested for DWI. Computer checks revealed that Foster was involved in a motor vehicle accident on August 27, in the town of Geddes where he was arrested for DWAI – Drugs.
Warmer on Thursday with near record heat again on Friday
The meetings, planned next month, will be designed to educate students and their parents on the dangers of these types of drugs. The superintendent hopes to get representatives from Farnham, the police department, the hospital and other professionals to take part.
It is “Back to School” time and the Fulton Police Department wants to remind motorists that school buses will be back on the roads and students will be walking along the side of roads and waiting for buses. Please watch carefully for children near school buildings, in areas where school buses are traveling or where there are signs for school zones or bus stops.
The Oswego County Board of Elections advises all voters that there are no contested primary races in Oswego County this year. All poll sites will be closed on Sept. 13.
The H. Lee White Marine Museum hosts a traveling mini-exhibit, “War of 1812: A Nation Forged By War,” from the National Museum of the United States Navy. Now through Sunday, September 30, the exhibit is on display in New York State Canal Derrick Boat No. 8 on West First Street Pier in Oswego.
