State Senator Patty Ritchie is describing a bill she cosponsored with Senator John DeFrancisco to expand Central New York’s Foreign Trade as a way to help Oswego County businesses compete for new jobs and businesses in the global market.
At its meeting Tuesday night, the Oswego School Board unanimously voted to present a referendum on the May 15 ballot for a large capital project. Voters will be asked to allow the district to spend up to $15 million on the project. The proposed cost of the work at five of the seven schools comes to $14,952,501, according to Superintendent Bill Crist.
The new state budget will include funding to battle pervasive weed problems in Fulton’s Lake Neatahwanta, the Oswego River and Black Lake in St. Lawrence County, and to help improve safety and navigation in Henderson Harbor’s critical “cut” to Lake Ontario.
