The Oswego County Health Department on March 29 began the process of notifying businesses that they are prohibited from selling, distributing or giving away synthetic marijuana products. The Oswego City Police Department recently arrested 33-year-old Bruce H. Macmillan, of 269 W. Third St., Oswego, and charged him with several crimes stemming from a string of incidents allegedly committed by Macmillan since March .

“I am pleased that Governor Cuomo and the Health Department have taken a strong stance and banned the sale and distribution of synthetic marijuana,” said Barclay. “This harmful drug has been a threat to the safety and well-being of our children for too long and I am glad that our youth will no longer be legally exposed to its dangerous effects.”

He was charged following a domestic dispute in the town of Mexico after he allegedly pushed the victim down and pinned them so they couldn’t get up. He then took their car without permission, according to sheriff’s deputies.
