The committees all have full agendas. Items to be discussed include zone change requests, event plans by the chamber and the fire department’s ambulance rates among several other resolutions.

Mayor Tom Gillen has announced that the winter parking ban will go into effect at 1 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 14). During such time as the winter parking ban is imposed, the parking of any vehicle on all highways and streets shall be prohibited between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. The Oswego Police Department will issue courtesy tickets for the first two nights only that the parking ban is in effect.

The group’s director encouraged Oswego board members to attend the upcoming annual legislative breakfast, which will be held at Baldwinsville High School. “It’s an opportunity for our organization to get out in good numbers and tell our stories to our state legislators,” he said.

Ironically, the area is in the middle of a snow drought as the annual celebration that honors winter looms on the horizon. It’s getting colder. Snow is in the forecast. But, will there be enough to sustain some events for the annual Warm Up, Oswego Festival? We’ll just have to wait and see.
