Oswego Councilor Looks To Straighten Out Parking Issues
Councilor Connie Cosemento, Physical Services Committee chair, requested discussion regarding parking in public space. At this week’s meeting, she proposed amending Section 257-26 D2 of the existing code to include: ‘parking in public space, between the curb and the sidewalk, shall be parallel to the curb and sidewalk, unless otherwise authorized, in accordance with the site plan approved by the Common Council.’
Oswego Police: Don’t Block Sidewalks With Your Vehicles
With the onset on nice weather and the lifting of the city-wide parking ban, Oswego Police Chief Michael J. Dehm Jr. wishes to remind citizens not to block city sidewalks with their vehicles. The Oswego City Police Department will be actively enforcing the City Ordinance regarding blocked sidewalks.
Crash Claims Life Of OHS Grad
Lt. Nathan H. Williams, 28, was one of two people killed Wednesday when the F/A-18F Super Hornet they were flying during a training exercise crashed in a field near Naval Air Station Lemoore in California. The 2000 grad of Oswego High School is the son of city attorney Gay Williams and retired elementary school teacher Al Williams.

Members of the Hannibal Board of Education sent their anger in all directions Wednesday night. They were angry with the teachers’ union, with the state, and, at times, with each other as they decided not to decide on a budget and thought out loud about defying the state.
