Thank a Service Member has a special event lined up for this year’s Veterans’ Day Salute. The PBS award-winning and 2010 Emmy nominated documentary, The Way We Get By, will be shown in Oswego on Nov. 10. Veterans’ Day ceremonies are scheduled for the following day in Veterans’ Memorial Park.

A meeting was held Wednesday night to follow up on suggestions made last month to improve safety along the Oswego River. “What we’d like to do is come up with four or five good suggestions and work with Brookfield to see which ones are the best and who’s going to pay for anything that needs to be improved,” the mayor explained.

Republicans targeted two of Oswego County’s political representatives, and took one of them out on election night.
In fact, Oswego County’s vote provided the margin by which Republican Patty Ritchie upset incumbent Democratic State Senator Darrel Aubertine.
Precipitation last month was pretty close to average while the temperature was a tad warmer than normal, according to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service.
For the most part, voter turnout was relatively strong for Tuesday’s election.
