Aubertine: Oswego Port To Receive $1.75 Million
The project will restore the quay wall of the West Terminal and allow for the installation of a new fender system.
Without the pier restoration, the dock will eventually become unusable for the freighters that call the Port’s bulk terminal.
This project is critical to the continuation of a significant portion of the business operations at the Port of Oswego.
Four Rescued From Oswego River
UPDATED: – – One of the victims has died.
Four people were rescued after being swept away by fast-moving high water in the Oswego River earlier this afternoon. Two of the victims were pulled out of the water near the Bridge Street Bridge. The other two were rescued behind the former Coleman’s restaurant.
Pauldine Opts For Non-Jury Trial
UPDATED Anthony Pauldine has opted for a non-jury trial. In Oswego City Court Tuesday he decided to let City Court Judge James Metcalf review the transcripts from the trial held earlier this spring. That trial ended in a hung jury. We thought that it was going to be very difficult to get a jury that had not been influenced and or had some run in with the past trial, his lawyer said.

Broadway Bridge Meeting is Tonight
If you’ve got a question about the upcoming renovation of Fulton’s Broadway bridge, a project that will close half of the bridge for nearly two years, tonight’s the night to ask.
The State Department of Transportation will go over the project in detail at a public meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Common Council chambers of Fulton City Hall.
Fulton Community Theatre and Quirk’s Players Present ‘An Evening On Broadway’ This Weekend
Fulton Community Theatre joins forces with the student members of Quirk’s Players this weekend to present An Evening On Broadway. The program, which celebrates the Broadway Musical in song, will be performed Friday, October 1st and Saturday, October 2nd at 7:30 pm as well as Sunday, October 3rd at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Oswego High Artwork Provides Positive Results
It is hoped that five new murals in the Oswego High School will evoke a positive atmosphere for students and staff. When doors swung open for the new year the old empty, used for bulletin board showcases had been removed and replaced with colorful student produced murals.
Council Approves OT Funds For Fire Department
The Oswego Fire Department will get its overtime funding. Just not all at once. At meeting Monday night’s Common Council meeting, aldermen voted 6-1 to approve an amended version of a resolution authorizing Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie to make a budget amendment of $110,000 to cover the short shift overtime. Councilor Bill Sharkey cast the lone nay vote.
