OSWEGO, NY – Local businessman Tony Pauldine was acquitted today (Dec. 7) on charges that he had sexual contact with a boy younger than 17 years old last fall.
The incident allegedly occurred on Oct. 18, 2009.
Four days later, Pauldine was arrested. He was charged with third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child (a class B and A misdemeanor respectively).
In late May, Pauldine’s first trial ended in a hung jury.
Instead of opting for a second jury trial in late September, Pauldine decided to have Oswego City Court Judge James Metcalf review the trial’s transcripts and evidence and render a decision.
There was insufficient evidence to convict Pauldine, according to the ruling.
Pauldine hasn’t returned phone calls seeking comment for this article.
Attempts to reach First Assistant District Attorney Don Todd have been unsuccessful.

Thank God for the brave juror that held her ground for justice. She took quite a beating from some of the others but she held out in her belief that their was reasonable doubt and hung the jury. The jury system is alive and well in this country! She saved a man’s life, unfortunately where does he go to get his good name back?
