Students, representing schools from all across the county, recently sat with the legislators and took an active role in the recent legislature meeting. Prior to that they visited other facets of county government and had a chance to debate and vote on their own ‘resolution.’

He was unable to participate in the recent “Meet the Candidate” night due to being called into work that night. On Thursday (May 10), at approximately 5:58 p.m., State Police in Pulaski responded to Elms Road in the town of Sandy Creek for a property damage auto accident. As a result of the investigation, Thomas Christopher, 58,, from Chipman Lane in Sandy Creek, was arrested for DWI (BAC .17%) and Leaving the Scene of a property damage accident.
At the Oswego City Fire Department’s eastside station today (May 10), State Senator Patty Ritchie presented Oswego City Firefighter Sean O’Gorman, whom she described as a ‘Gurdian Angel,’ with the Senate Liberty Award for his efforts to rescue two teenage girls from a rip current in the Atlantic Ocean. The New York State Senate Liberty Award is one of the highest civilian honors that a New Yorker can receive.
The Oswego County Health Department today (May 10) is warning residents that three adults were attacked by a gray fox in the vicinity of Snyder Road and County Route 15 in the town of Sandy Creek. One attack occurred Tuesday, May 8, and the others occurred Wednesday evening, May 9. Anyone in the area who sees a gray fox behaving aggressively is advised to call the New York State DEC regional dispatch office at 1-877-457-5680.

As the recent warm weather has concluded the long winter season, melted snow has resulted in littered streets and yards, Fulton city officials said. Sam Vono, Fourth Ward representative on the Fulton Common Council, has led his ward by example in an effort to combat the litter plaguing community neighborhoods. “One of my pet peeves has always been litter. I’m so opposed to people just driving and throwing litter out the window. I’d like to raise awareness in the city to try to get people on board, everybody, all of our residents, to just take some pride in our community. If you see it, pick it up,” he said.
Judge Karen Brandt (R-Oswego County) today (May 9) formally launched her bid for Supreme Court Justice in the Fifth Judicial District. Brandt, a lifelong resident of Oswego County who was first elected to the bench as Town Justice in 2011 and is still currently serving, has unmatched experience protecting our personal rights while presiding over criminal offenses, vehicle and traffic matters, small claims, evictions and civil matters.
