For several years, the Port City wore the title “Snow King” like a crown. But, in recent years, that is a designation that has relentlessly melted. Early this morning, control room operators removed Entergy Corp.’s FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant from service to begin its 22nd refueling and maintenance outage and prepare for continued safe and reliable operation. FitzPatrick had been scheduled to shut down at the end of its current fuel cycle in January 2017 until Exelon Generation agreed to assume ownership and manage operations.
On Thursday, January 12, shortly before 1 p.m., investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force, went to 264 George Washington Blvd. (apt B), Oswego, in conjunction with an ongoing methamphetamine investigation. Shortly upon arrival, investigators determined that methamphetamine was allegedly in the process of being manufactured by the occupants of apartment B.
Governor Cuomo announced the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation Board of Directors approved $662.9 million in grants and interest-free and low-cost loans to support vital wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects. Cities that are earmarked for millions in funding include Oswego.

On Jan. 11 at 2:50 p.m., Victorio A. Colon, 20, of Fulton; Luis A. Delgado, 18, of Fulton and Marta J. Nolen, 34, of Fulton, were all arrested for third-degree burglary, a class D felony; fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony; fifth-degree conspiracy, a class A misdemeanor and fourth-degree conspiracy, a class E felony.
After high school, Joshua Peacock of Mexico earned his bachelor’s degree at Hobart & William Smith in Geneva. Then he headed to Washington, DC to get his master’s at Georgetown. Driven to do more, he joined the Peace Corps.
On Friday, Joseph A. Stefanovich was found guilty, after a week-long non-jury trial, of Rape in the First Degree in Oswego County Supreme Court. Stefanovich was represented by attorney Edward Z. Menkin. Chief Assistant District Attorney Mark Moody prosecuted the case for the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.
