Fulton Police Emphasize Safety at Annual Bike Rodeo

For more than 15 years the Fulton City Police Department has emphasized bike safety at their annual Bike Rodeo. Like years past, children of any age were welcome to complete the bike obstacle course at the Fulton War Memorial on Saturday (June 4) and enter their ticket in the raffle for a brand new bike as donated by Catholic Charities and Dunkin Donuts.

Oswego School Board OKs A Pair Of Contracts

The board approved a one-year deal with CSEA that includes a pay freeze. That makes three out of the district’s four unions to approve such a deal. Talks are under way with the teachers’ union. The board also approved a contract extension for the 2017-18 school year regarding Superintendent Dr. Dean Goewey.

Pratt House Kicks Off Summer with Tailgate Theme Porch Party

One of Fulton’s main sources of history preservation has kicked off the summer with members and guests enjoying music, fun and plenty of food at the annual Pratt House Porch Party. Friends of History, a fully volunteer run organization that formed more than 35 years ago has worked tirelessly to maintain and preserve the history of Fulton in one of the city’s original homes located at 177 S. First St. Each year, the Friends of History organizes multiple events for members of the group as well as for the public that run throughout the course of the year, and each year it all kicks off with the annual Porch Party in June.

Oswego County To Test Sirens Tuesday

The sirens were installed last year as a joint effort by Exelon Generation, which owns and operates Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, and Entergy Nuclear, which owns and operates the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant, to upgrade the public warning system to use the latest technology and provide greater reliability.
