On Sunday (April 17), Billy Redden, 19, of Williamstown, was arrested by NY State Police – Hastings and charged with DWAI-Drugs, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Marijuana Possession and Reckless Driving in the town of Amboy.
On Monday (April 18), at approximately 1:06 p.m., State Police stopped a speeding vehicle on State Route 48 in the town of Lysander. The operator, Jamison M. Bartlett II, 38, of Pulaski, was wanted on an active warrant by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.

Despite a slow start in the early Saturday (April 16) morning hours, turnout picked up throughout the day for the second ever Parent University hosted by Fulton City School District and Fulton Community School. The doors opened at 9 a.m. at Fulton Junior High School to welcome parents, families and students from the Fulton community to the informational Parent University aimed at providing numerous resources to benefit the overall educational experience of all students. The free event provided ten seminars involving many different members of the Fulton City School District including the Board of Education and touched on subjects of many varieties including parenting strategies, academic assistance and educational requirements. In its second year, Parent University was proud to introduce Chick Moorman, a renowned educator as the keynote speaker to present on his program, The 5 Commitments: Parenting with a Purpose.
Oswego Mayor William Barlow Jr. said he authorized the iron fence surrounding City Hall be taken down. The fence was in bad shape with several missing parts on the West First Street side and it caused a safety concern, he said. A former alderman has a different opinion, however.
On Sunday, State Police responded to a residence in Hannibal, for a domestic incident. Investigation at the scene revealed that Sean P. Moree, 23, of Oswego, entered the residence on Country Lane and became physical with the occupant, in violation of an order of protection, according to police.
More than 160 students gathered outside of Mexico High School this morning in protest of their right to wear bandannas during spirit week. The protest was more significant than bandannas themselves, however. This year, students opted together to wear bandannas made in remembrance of their late classmate, Hunter Fox who passed away earlier this school year. A student claims roughly 30 students received in-school suspension as a result of wearing the bandannas. Read the full article for more student details and Principal Donald Root’s response.
On April 16, at approximately 1:47 a.m., State Police responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on County Route 57 in the town of Schroeppel. The driver was determined to be intoxicated, and found to be in possession of marijuana, according to the police report.
On April 15, at approximately 11:03 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 104 in the city of Oswego for a traffic violation. Investigation at the scene revealed the operator, William H. Allen, 55, of Great Mills, Maryland, was allegedly intoxicated.
