In November 2013, the Oswego Sub Shop was contacted by the United States Secret Service and identified as a possible common point of purchase of a credit card breach (hack). It is also important to understand that this is NOT an “internal investigation,” as it has been speculated in social media outlets, BUT RATHER a much larger investigation and scope.
On Saturday, January 25, the New Hope Presbyterian Church held its annual American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Parish Fire Station. Despite the cold and the busy-ness of everyone’s lives, we welcomed fifty-nine willing donors. The end results were fifty-five units of blood collected, which has the potential to save 165 lives.
Your help is now needed in the war on Synthetics: the poisons that are still being packaged and sold in under false labels attractive to children. These Synthetics are killing and permanently injuring many people all over our country! An effective long-term legislation was introduced in 2013 that needs the public’s help to move through Albany into law.
For many years, Fulton’s wrestling teams have been recognized throughout the state for their outstanding achievements. The hard work and dedication of athletes, coaches, the continued support of parents and wrestling fans have made our area the center for wrestling. The success of Fulton’s wrestling teams has made many of the surrounding schools reach for higher levels.
Members of the Oswego community came together on December 30 at the Live and Love Life blood drive to honor Cooper Levine in his fight against acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Well more than 100 potential donors were willing to give life-giving blood so that others would have it available in their time of need.
The Friends of Camp Hollis would like to thank the following businesses, organizations and community supporters for their generosity of financial contributions, in-kind donations or volunteering time to make 2013 a great season for Camp Hollis.
Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me. We all have heard this saying many times. Well the Oswego County Legislature has fooled the general public for two years now with the county budget.
As you may, or may not be aware, the town recently submitted an application for funding for a water district in your area of the town. The town was notified recently that they are eligible for funding by USDA Rural Development. Before funding will be committed, a final application must be submitted.
The election season is over and the holidays are upon us. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the people of Fulton for their support during the last six years. Serving on the legislature has been a wonderful experience, one that will remain with me always.
I would like to thank Ralph Stacey on his kind words in his concession letter. Ralph ran a clean and hard fought campaign and deserves a lot of credit for his efforts. I did like some of his ideas and will try to use them in the near future.
