Minority Point of View
The August 12 meeting of the Oswego County Legislature was a true display of the reckless and complete disregard the leadership and many of the Republican legislators have for the process of governing for the people.

We would like to publicly thank two young people for taking the time to care for and improve the appearance of our city.
I extend my sincerest thanks to everyone who helped make our Annual Stuff-A-Bus Harborfest Breakfast such a success!
The United Way of Oswego County extends a sincere thank you to the many volunteers and sponsors whose commitment to the United Way 2012 Golf Classic again made the event an outstanding success.
The recent action of the Common Council to table the Bus Ordinance still leaves us in need of a solution to the problem of house parties. I would like to make a suggestion that might help control the problem.
I would like to remind the residents of Oswego County that the village of Pulaski will host the August session of the Oswego County Legislature at the H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse on August 9 at 2 p.m.
I would like to thank all of you for the wonderful covering of Harborfest. Congratulations to all who put so much work into this event.
As a long time supporter of women’s rights and women’s history, I had no problem with the historical portion of the display which included posters of prominent New York women in history, and some books of information about these women on the table. What I did object to was the blatant use by Senator Ritchie of her office to promote herself.
Right now the idea is to pass a local law restricting what routes the buses can take. I disagree with that solution. What happens if the bus operators use mini-vans, econo vans, rent out the buses to the students or the students drive their cars?
Last month, I had the pleasure of meeting Senator Patty Ritchie when she informed me that I would be awarded the 2012 Woman of Distinction from her District. I want to thank Senator Ritchie for this award and would also like to take this time to send out a huge Thank You to everyone for their congratulations
