As many of you may know, the Oswego County Clerk’s office has been the center of controversy for the past several years. I decided to run for the office because I believe, like many of you, that enough is enough. There are some fundamental differences between myself and my opponent.
During this campaign, I have been faulted for failing to accept large monetary donations from corporations, lobbying groups and the state Democrat Party. This was my decision and one I stand by. My intention is not, and never has been, to be beholden to special interests or party politics. These changes are supposed to ensure that all the county’s districts are roughly equal in population. Just as important, these new districts are supposed to be designed in a way that voters and communities are fairly represented in the county legislature.
Thanks to the support we received from businesses and organizations that participated in the event, hundreds of area youth enjoyed an afternoon that included free school supplies, lunch bags packed with a healthy lunch, face painting, complimentary hair cuts and dental screenings, presentations on health, safety, education and more.
