OCSD’s All Music Based Budget

I am writing to you in regards to the OCSD budget presentation on Tuesday April 5, 2016. As outlined by Dr. Dean Goewey, the budget is one of the tightest and includes job and programing cuts like we have not seen in recent times. As a taxpayer in this city, I have a hard time swallowing the idea that all areas of OCSD will be “deeply impacted,” as Dr. Goewey stated.

Most of you have read how three State Representatives are going to sponsor a bill to change a law in Oswego County for 5 Oswego County Legislators. New York State is losing jobs, New York State has a heroin epidemic, and Oswego County has a poverty level that is almost the highest in the state. The infrastructure in Oswego County is failing.

Oswego County’s health behavior ranking has improved significantly according to data recently released in the annual National County Health Rankings of 2016 by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. Round Table Missing Three Legs!

Thursday night (2/18) in the city of Fulton the mayor of Fulton along with the Greater Oswego/Fulton Chamber of Commerce hosted a roundtable meeting about economic development in the city of Fulton. I couldn’t help but notice the absence of anyone from the Oswego County IDA (the nine members of the Industrial Development Agency), any of the seven member Oswego County legislature’s EDP (Economic Development & Planning Committee), or any of the eight members of the Economic Development & Poverty Reduction Task Force.
