It is 2016 on the calendar but in the Oswego County Legislative chambers you would think it was still 2015. The games that were being played in 2015 are now in OT. This is the second OT and almost ready to go into Sudden Death. In this case, it was a promotion with a raise. (Sounds a little like Onondaga County).
Is a political situation, especially in the context of a two-party system, as is the case for countries such as the United States, in which opposing political parties find common ground through compromise, in theory? This is in contrast to partisanship, where an individual or political party only adheres to their interests without compromise.

Now if only our Republican majority at the county level would only read and follow one of their hero’s words we would be so much better off.
After hearing that your county taxes are going up 2.8% this year, you now know why the elections are always before the budget vote. Those legislators that voted to raise your taxes and not to reduce the budget are glad you voted for them before you found out they were going to raise your taxes.
Taxpayers if you weren’t in attendance Thursday December 10th at the Oswego County Budget meeting you missed legislators crying like babies. During the meeting the minority caucus asked for several cuts to the budget in an effort to save the taxpayers money.
Earlier tonight, I was sitting here listening to some Christmas music, like most of us normally do around this time of year, when the song “Mary Did You Know” came across the radio. There is a particular line in the song, that I found a little disturbing, and even a bit offensive.
I would like to take a few minutes out of my day and reach out to thank those that took part in the can “veggie” drive that was recently held. I am extremely grateful for those that took up the challenge and assisted in making things a little bit better for those that could use the assistance.
Property owners in the southern portion of the town of Schroeppel have the opportunity to establish a water district and access public water from the Onondaga County Water Authority.
Just received my copy of the Tentative County 2016 Budget on Tuesday Nov. 23. Well, low and behold taxes for a city of Fulton taxpayer are up again. I will not be voting in favor of this budget as it stands. Just a few things that make my stomach turn are these: $1,000 a piece per chair -total of 12 chairs, $100 a chair for a training center – total of 24 chairs, $1,000 debit cards for all legislators (I refuse mine each year).
