The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team fell, 2-1, to Buffalo State on Sunday afternoon to split the weekend series. With the loss, the Lakers move to 3-2 overall and an even 1-1 in conference play, while the Bengals improve to 2-4 on the season and 2-2 in NEWHL games.
The No. 9 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team defeated SUNY Canton, 3-2, at the Marano Campus Center Arena on Saturday night. With the victory, the Lakers improve to 3-1 this season, while the Kangaroos fall to 1-3.
The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team shutout the Buffalo State Bengals, 3-0, in its first-ever NEWHL game on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Lakers improve to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference action, while the Bengals fall to 1-4 on the season and 1-2 against NEWHL teams.
It had been since 2011 since the all-time points system for Oswego Speedway’s Supermodifieds had been updated, but that changed earlier this week and the new top five provided an interesting shift as well as a new all-time points leader for the first time since the mid-1990s.
The No. 9/9 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team will play the SUNY Canton Kangaroos at 7 p.m. on Saturday inside the Marano Campus Center Arena. Saturday’s game will also be Military Appreciation Night, as Oswego will pay tribute to the branches of the United States Armed Forces.
On Saturday, the Oswego Sub Shop Peewees traveled to the Ice House in Binghamton to take on the Binghamton Junior Devils emerging victorious with a score of 4-3. On Sunday The Sub Shop Peewees hosted Clinton at the Crisafulli rink. The Oswego squad battled for two periods in a close game, before scoring six straight goals in the third to earn the 9-2 victory.
The Oswego Speedway Eagles Fan Club, a volunteer non-profit organization formed several years ago with the sole purpose and intent of supporting drivers and owners that compete at Oswego Speedway, will return in 2018 with a new cast of officers and assistants.
Following the release of Oswego Speedway’s 2018 schedule earlier this week, track management is pleased to announce that all active service members plus kids 16 and under attending speedway racing events in 2018 will be admitted free with a paid adult. This excludes Budweiser International Classic Weekend.
