Stafford Motor Speedway Next Stop for Triple Crown Championship Series this Friday

The Shea Concrete Triple Crown Championship Series of Supermodified racing presented by ASI Racewear will next head to Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, Conn., for round number four of the overall championship and the second ISMA event on the tour. The winged warriors of the International Supermodified Association will be making their first trip to Stafford since June of 2013, when Mike Lichty drove to victory lane.

Oswego Speedway Set to Kick Off Summer in Big Way with ‘Grand Prix’ Special, Fireworks on July 1

In the first three events of the 2017 season, two new Novelis Supermodified feature winners and one new Pathfinder Bank SBS feature winner have all been crowned. A Shampine returned to victory lane for the first time since 1982 in the Jim Shampine Memorial. The son of Dave Shullick Sr. picked up his first-ever non-wing win at the ‘Steel Palace’ and the championship battles remain tight with Shullick Jr. and Andrew Schartner leading the way heading into the month of July.

In the 35-lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature Wight started 18th and quickly made his way forward into the top five by lap 10. Once in the top five it would take Wight just 6 laps to take the lead for good, out running teammate Pat Ward to the checkers for his second straight win and third overall at Fulton in 2017.

Oswego State Women’s Ice Hockey Joins Newly Founded League

The five remaining NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey-playing institutions that operated under the Eastern College Athletic Conference West banner, including Oswego State, will wave a new flag beginning in 2017-18 as the Northeast Women’s Hockey League. Tom Cranfield, the senior associate athletic director at Cortland and the president of the NEWHL, made the announcement today (June 15).

Fulton Spring Sports Recap Highlights Unified Basketball Season

According to Fulton City School District’s athletic director Christopher Ells, the district saw a successful spring sports season despite having to dodge a lot of rain and mud. The highlight of the season came from the district’s first year participating in Unified Sports along with other schools throughout Section III. Fulton formed a unified basketball team, the first ever team of its kind at the district, that paired 12 special education students with 5 regular education students to compete in games and practices throughout the season coached by Josh Viscome and Joe Meeks, both employees in the district.

Bearup Holds Off Dalton Doyle for First Career Pathfinder Bank SBS Victory

It was only a matter of time before Redwood, NY, driver Jesse Bearup picked up his first career victory at the Oswego Speedway. Bearup, who began competing in the Pathfinder Bank SBS division back in 2014, has had a fast start to his 2017 campaign and this past weekend, the second generation driver finally put his family’s Felder’s Roofing, Route 37 Building Supply home-built racer in victory lane following a strong performance to hold off veteran Dalton Doyle.

Shullick Jr., Snyder Survive Oswego Twin 35s to Lead Current Triple Crown Standings

A wild Saturday night at Oswego Speedway tested the determination of all of the Novelis Supermodifieds in the pit area, especially those contending for the Shea Concrete Triple Crown Championship Series of Supermodified racing presented by ASI Racewear. When all was said and done at the conclusion of two 35-lap feature events, the overall TCCS winner was Dave Shullick Jr. in the Nicotra Racing No. 2 with finishes of second and first on the evening.
