With the Shea Concrete Triple Crown Championship Series presented by ASI Racewear moving to Lancaster Speedway on Saturday for the first of five winged ISMA Supermodified events, several Oswego Speedway non-wing regulars are preparing to ‘wing it’ on the road.
Longtime Oswego Speedway campaigner and fan favorite Joey Payne made waves leading up to the 2017 season after ‘The Jet’ landed a potent Supermodified ride in a Muldoon Chassised racer for California based car owner Don Penix.
Less than a week after the announcement that Asphalt Vision would be returning to broadcast Oswego Speedway events in 2017, speedway management in conjunction with Thomas Video Productions and AsphaltVision.com is excited to announce that all of the remaining Asphalt Vision broadcasts from Oswego will now be aired live.
The methanol-breathing, winged warriors of the Patriot Sprint Tour and the 800-horsepower Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds will put on a night of high speed, wheel to wheel racing this Saturday, June 3, at the Fulton Speedway on Penn Power Group night.
The Shea Concrete Triple Crown Championship Series of Supermodified racing presented by ASI Racewear moves to Lancaster Speedway this Saturday for round two of the combination championship. This Saturday’s trip to western New York marks the first wing event of the series schedule and ISMA’s first trip to Lancaster in some 15 years.
In his first career triumph, Keith Shampine drove the Chris Osetek Racing Technologies Supermodified to victory lane at the Steel Palace, the very first victory for both driver and team after holding off seven-time Novelis Supermodified champion Otto Sitterly. But, that wasn’t all. Fittingly, Shampine’s first Oswego victory came on Memorial Day Weekend in the Jim Shampine Memorial 75. Keith is the nephew of the legendary driver of the ‘8-Ball.’
A huge field of cars greeted a large crowd Saturday at the Fulton Speedway for racing and Demolition Derbies night. In the 35-lap Tracey Road Equipment Modified feature, Tom Sears Jr. took the lead from Adam Roberts on lap 28 and then had to hold off Jimmy Phelps and Larry Wight for the popular win.

The top-seeded Oswego State baseball team saw two leads dissipate in an 8-7 loss to No. 8 Roanoke College in its first game of the 2017 NCAA Division III College World series on Friday afternoon (May 26) at Fox Cities Stadium. Oswego (32-10) will now face Concordia University Chicago (33-12) at 10 a.m. (CDT) on Saturday in an elimination game.
