Slow start for us tonight, but we bounced back. The first set was a lot of back and forth volleyball, we have several good contacts and then JD had several good contacts. Both teams made minimal errors in the first set of the match. And we got behind for a little and turned it around near the end of the first set.

The annual Buc Boosters Girls’ JV Volleyball tournament was a big success. Nine teams from around Section 3 came to the Oswego High School gym to compete in the annual tournament. Host team Oswego finished 1st in pool play and lost in the Gold division semifinal to the eventual Gold winner Liverpool.
The Oswego State volleyball team jumped back into the win column with a 3-0 victory over Capital University at the Nazareth Invitational on Friday night. Oswego’s straight-set victory came in 25-20, 25-20, 25-14 fashion to go 4-1 on the year while Capital falls to 3-4.
The Oswego State men’s soccer team dropped its contest to the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats, 2-0, on Friday evening. The Lakers are now even at 2-2 on the season whereas the No. 12 Diplomats improve to 3-0-1.
The Oswego State women’s soccer team was handed its first loss of the 2016 campaign 3-2 to the University of Mount Union on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Fredonia Blue Devils/Clarion Hotel Classic. Oswego’s loss drops its overall record to 1-1 while the Purple Raiders advance to 2-1.
Jeff Abold, the winner of Oswego Speedway’s 60th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds last Sunday, is making the trek to New Hampshire this weekend to take on the third and final leg of Supermodified racing’s Triple Crown, ISMA’s Star Classic 150 at Star Speedway.
Tonight was a good match up for us and this was a team effort. Every girl on the team had a stat on our stat sheet tonight. Several times we had to push back against Lafeyette’s serve game. The girls found themselves behind a few times and were able to come together as a group and pull this one out.
Oswego Kartway officials have announced they will continue racing into the fall months in 2016, opening for action this Friday, September 9 before coming back for the RJ Kart Sales Fall Frenzy Championships on September 24. This Friday’s action will follow the usual Kartway time schedule with pit gates opening at 4:30 p.m., the drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m., hot laps at 6:45 p.m., and racing at 7:30 p.m.
