By popular demand, in 2016 the Oswego Speedway will be offering Rides With the Future Legends. Five of the most popular young drivers will be taking people for the ride of a lifetime Saturday morning of Port City Weekend.
Twenty years ago today – May 19, 1996 – Oswego Supermodified veteran Joe Gosek officially qualified for the 80th running of the Indianapolis 500 at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. At the time, Gosek was a two-time champion of Oswego’s Budweiser International Classic and a former ISMA Supermodified champion.
There were several stories coming out of Oswego Speedway’s 66th annual season opener this past Saturday and two of them revolved around up and coming drivers Aric Iosue and Jesse Bearup.
This Saturday on the fast, affordable, family fun race schedule will be the ground shaking Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux RUSH Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and JB Logging & Firewood Four Cylinders.
Oswego Speedway will be back in action this Saturday, May 21, with the first of three fan appreciation specials, this week featuring just $10 adult general admission presented by Best Western PLUS/Quality Inn and Suites Riverfront of Oswego. The day’s racing activity will see grandstand gates open at 4:30 p.m. with the start of hot laps and the first heat race of the day going green at 6:30 p.m.
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District JV and Varsity Girls’ Volleyball will move from the winter sports season to fall sports season for the 2016-2017 school year. The decision to move to the fall has been in discussion for the past two years. Many factors went into making the decision.
Oswego Kartway veteran Ricky Pritchard doubled down on Friday night at the Bullring, winning each of the newly formed State Clone divisions on a night that saw a regular season record 130 race entries take to the Little O.
