Thanks to the help of several Nolan Swift and Oswego Speedway race fans, the section of the Albany Street hill between Jim Shampine Drive and City Line Road in front of Oswego Speedway will now be named Nolan Swift Drive, with a dedication ceremony set for May 21 at 3 p.m on the corner of Shampine and Swift Drive.
Oswego Speedway and Turning Stone Resort Casino, the official casino of Oswego Speedway, have announced the return of the popular ‘Favorite Driver’ contest for the upcoming 2016 season at the ‘Steel Palace’ celebrating 66 consecutive years of racing action.
Oswego Speedway’s storied history has long included great Canadian drivers and car owners over the years, and among that list of accomplished veterans are Dave McKnight and Gary Morton, who are working on a focused effort to return competitively to Oswego part-time in non-wing action with their sights set on the 60th running of the Budweiser International Classic 200 on September 4.

If you missed Oswego Speedway’s Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds on Suzuki presents Speed Sport on MAVTV earlier this winter, the event will re-air on April 7 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
What started out as a chalkboard plan by Oswego Speedway’s Caruso family to hopefully push more driving interest into the fast 5/8 mile, has grown into one of the most proven support divisions in all of open-wheel short track racing, capable of being a headliner at nearly any facility.
For the fourth consecutive season, Oswego Speedway has ranked in the top five of Speed Sport Magazine’s ‘My Favorite Track’ poll, finishing in the third position overall. Speed Sport’s survey was conducted from February 3-24 with votes being tallied for a total of 286 tracks in 45 states and seven countries.
Fulton City School District Athletic Director, Christopher Ells recently spoke to the Board of Education on the success of all Varsity and JV winter sports programs finishing with numerous honors and distinctions across all teams. Ten varsity programs with a total of 153 athletes placed four NYS scholar athlete teams, six teams with members with All-League honors, 2 Coach of the Year recipients, ample individual awards and championship and tournament wins. Board of Education member, Dan Pawlewicz took the opportunity to send condolences to the athletic and teaching departments at FCSD, as they recently lost a vital member of their team. Physical education teacher at G. Ray Bodley and long-time varsity volleyball coach, Caroline Richardson lost her battle to ovarian cancer on March 19, 2016. “We lost one of your coaches (recently), please share that our thoughts and prayers are with her, her family and everyone at GRB. Big loss athletically and academically for Fulton,” Pawlewicz said.
Fresh off his first career Novelis Supermodified main event victory at Oswego Speedway in August of 2015, third generation racer Brandon Bellinger and team have opted to make the switch to independent front suspension on their No. 02 Supermodified for Oswego’s upcoming 2016 campaign.
