On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, Hilton’s Automotive Four-Cylinders, plus Pro Race Cars Mod Lites.
When Budweiser Classic Week opens at Oswego Speedway on September 2, the familiar pairing of Joey Payne and Strong Racing will be well on their way in preparing to take on the world’s greatest Supermodified event, the Budweiser International Classic 200.
Since 1971, Oswego Speedway’s Twin Supermodified events have been known to produce first time feature winners at the ‘Steel Palace.’ Fred Graves, Gary Allbritain, Mike McLaughlin, Dean Hoag, Howard Page, Greg Furlong, Otto Sitterly, Jeff Holbrook, Gary Morton, Jerry Curran, and Pat Lavery have all won their first, and in some cases only, Supermodified feature in a Twin Supermodified main.
Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodifieds will return to the ‘Steel Palace’ this weekend for the always exciting Supermodified Twin 35s presented by Burke’s Do-It-Best Home Centers and A&P Auto Parts along with the first driver autograph session of the season on June 20.
After Larry Wight’s spectacular run at the Fulton Speedway on June 6 when he parked his Big Block Modified and 360 Sprint Car in victory lane, the question was, would he have a letdown on Saturday night? The answer was “No.”

With weather set to move over the Brewerton Speedway late today, the management in an effort to save race teams and fans expense plus travel have canceled Friday, June 12 racing. The race weekend isn’t entirely lost as the Fulton Speedway will have a night of family, fun, affordable racing on June 13.
In what has become a race within a race, both Mike Lichty and Dave Shullick Jr. are eyeing another Oswego Speedway track record this weekend as the ISMA Supermodifieds return to the ‘Steel Palace’ on June 13.
On May 30, Oswego Boxing Club’s Billy Meggison traveled two hours to Gouverneur to make his amateur boxing debut. He was joined by fellow OBC member Lindsay Demling.
Meggison earned a hard-fought unanimous decision victory. Demling lost a tough fight, but her effort did not go unnoticed.
