The Oswego State women’s basketball team cruised past New Paltz 75-51 on Tuesday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the win, the Lakers improve to 6-7 on the year and 2-4 in conference play.

Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified division will gain another weekly race team in 2014, with the return of Syrell Racing to the ‘Steel Palace’ for its 25th consecutive season of Supermodified compeition.

The OHS boys’ varsity basketball team and swimmers came away with victories as did the bowling teams while the wrestling team had several solid individual efforts and the hockey teams along with girls’ basketball were also in action.

The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team never trailed on Saturday night and defeated No. 8 Utica College 5-3 in a battle of top ten teams at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Oswego’s win comes in the form of a rematch as these two teams recently faced off in the PathFinder Bank/Oswego State Hockey Classic last week.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team erased a two-goal deficit late on Saturday but surrendered a goal with just under three minutes remaining in regulation to fall 3-2 to host St. Norbert. Oswego’s loss drops the team to 8-4—1 on the year.

The Oswego State men’s basketball team held a healthy lead over Buffalo State throughout Saturday afternoon’s 84-69 victory in Max Ziel Gymnasium. Oswego’s win improves its conference mark to 4-1 while moving to 10-2 overall.

The Oswego State women’s basketball team were overcome by a late-run from Buffalo State to fall 71-60 to the Bengals in Max Ziel Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. Oswego’s loss drops the team to 1-4 in conference play and 5-7 overall.

The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team used a three-goal opening period and outlasted host Nazareth College 5-3 on Tuesday night at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex.

The Oswego State men’s basketball team took a 74-60 conference win over Fredonia on Friday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium. Oswego’s win pushed its record to 3-1 in the SUNYAC and 9-2 overall.
