The No. 7/10 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team took down visiting Nazareth College 3-0 on Friday night at the Campus Center Ice Arena. Oswego is now 11-2-2 on the year while the Golden Flyers fall to 2-12-1.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team fell 78-64 in a conference matchup at Brockport on Friday night. It is the first time in the 2013-14 season that the Lakers have dropped back-to-back contests. With the loss, Oswego is now 10-4 overall with a 4-3 SUNYAC mark.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team took a tough 70-67 overtime loss at Brockport on Friday night. Oswego’s loss drops the team to 6-8 overall with a 2-5 conference mark while the Golden Eagles improve to 6-5, 2-2.
Burris Racing Tire will continue its official sanction of Oswego Kartway during the upcoming 2014 racing season. Oswego Kartway will kick off its 2014 campaign with a pre-season non-point event on April 18 and will continue through the month of September.
A spectacular comeback capped off by a driving lay up with three seconds to go brought Oswego High boys’ varsity basketball players a 54-52 victory over visiting Auburn on Wednesday at Power Gym in Oswego.
WBUC student TV will be recording and broadcasting the Oswego High School varsity boys’ basketball game vs. Corcoran Friday night, 17, live. Tipoff is scheduled at 6:30 p.m.
The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series is returning to Fulton Speedway on July 23. The event will mark the fourth time the Outlaws have invaded the 3/8-mile high-banked oval in upstate New York.
John C. Birdlebough senior Alyssa Harley is making a splash with the Fulton varsity swim team this year. On Saturday, the standout athlete from Phoenix was selected as the female swimmer of the meet during 16th annual HAC Swim Invitational held at the Harley School in Rochester.
A busy couple of days saw the basketball, bowling and hockey victories for Oswego High School athletic squads. The Oswego boys’ varsity basketball coaching staff and fans won’t have any finger nails left by the end of the season if games continue in the fashion of those in recent days.
Registrations for the upcoming 2014 season for Fulton Little League Baseball and Softball will be taking place at the Fulton War Memorial. The dates and times are: Jan. 18, 8 a.m. – noon; Jan. 25, noon – 4 p.m.; and Feb. 1, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. All boys or girls who reside in, or attend school in, the Fulton or Hannibal school districts are eligible to play Fulton Little League Baseball or Softball.
