Oneonta Ends Lady Lakers’ Basketball Season

If anything, the 14th-ranked Oswego State men’s basketball team’s 73-62 SUNYAC quarterfinal victory over New Paltz showed the Lakers it will not be an easy path to a conference championship.
We would like to recognize and congratulate all of the participants who played a part in the Fulton high school winter sport events. This would include the administration, hard working and dedicated coaches, booster club members, community and school volunteers, family members and fans, cheerleaders, dance team and especially the athletes who make up the teams.
It was a “Bucsational” weekend for the Oswego High School bowling team, several swimmers and competitive track runners as OHS will have representation at the state level in bowling, swimming and boys’ indoor track.
Junior forward Jon Whitelaw was the lone representative on the First Team, while junior forward Paul Rodrigues and junior defenseman Zack Josepher were named to the Second Team. Junior goaltender Andrew Hare and junior defenseman Taylor Farris were selected to the Third Team.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team (10-13-2, 8-8-2 ECAC West) came up just short in similar goal-trading style of Saturday night’s game, as the Lakers fell 4-3 to seventh-ranked Elmira (20-4-1, 15-3-0 ECAC West) Sunday afternoon.

The top-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (21-2-2, 14-0-2 SUNYAC) posted its second consecutive shutout to close out the regular season with a 3-0 win against Potsdam (8-15-2, 6-10-0 SUNYAC) Saturday at the Campus Center Arena.
