PHOENIX – Looking for a little local fun and fright time this year for family and friends?
Come on out to Screamwood Forest in Pennellville.
Enjoy a walk through the trail (If you dare!) with live-action theatrical scenes from your favorite Halloween performances.
This year’s “Screamwood Forest” will be open with a few new exciting scenes the two weekends before Halloween: Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29.
The trail will feature ‘friendly frights’ without live-action characters from 6 to 8 p.m. along with the opportunity for young children to “trick or treat” along the way.
Beginning at 8 p.m. and running until 11 p.m., the wooded trail will come alive to include surprise characters and macabre performance.
The Screamwood Forest experience includes games for kids with prize giveaways, concession treats, Halloween movie clips on a large screen, a bonfire to relax around and a costume contest each night.
Games, movies and concessions will remain family-friendly throughout the night.
All proceeds will benefit the Phoenix Chorus and Drama Boosters and go towards continued support for theater and music programs.
Trail donations through the forest are $7 or $5 to anyone who comes to “Screamwood Forest” in costume.
Families can purchase tickets to play games at a donation of 25 cents each or five for $1 with each game requiring one ticket.
Parking is free, across the road from the 360 Stewarts Corners Road property, where parking guides and crossing guards will be on hand to assist.
Children, friends and families are invited to come out to play games in the brightly lit darkness or to venture bravely down the trail to experience the live-action of this always delightful Halloween venue.

Students from the JCB High School Drama Club devote many hours to planning, preparing, building, rehearsing and acting on the Screamwood Forest trail, located at 360 Stewarts Corners Road in Pennellville. They invite Halloween visitors of all ages to come out for family time and frightful fun that supports the arts in Phoenix.
