OSWEGO – The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee recognized the Oswego County 4-H Dog Obedience Drill Team for becoming the 2017 New York State Champions.
Over the last seven years, the team’s discipline, hard work and dedication has been rewarded with one reserve and four championship titles at state competitions.
The drill team is made up of Oswego County youth between ages five to 18 who work together to train their dogs and demonstrate its obedience skills.
The five- to eight-minute routines promote positive themes such as cancer awareness, the power of dog therapy, patriotism and “We are the World.”
