OSWEGO — The Oswego County Historical Society will host the 25th annual “Not So Silent Auction” on March 30 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. in Oswego.
“This is our silver anniversary this year, and it will be particularly unique,” said Bernie Henderson, co-chair of the event. “In fact, we will be auctioning some sterling and plated silver items in honor of our milestone.”
The silent auction will feature numerous items ranging from antiques, collectibles and gift certificates donated by local businesses. Among the more unique items to be included are 19th century Victorian furnishings and Wedgwood pottery.
There will be both silent and live auction portions of the evening.
Also included is a special table with themed filled baskets on which chances will be offered.
A food buffet will be included along with and a cash bar. Generous donations from local businesses will sponsor the cost of the event.
“The funds raised at this event will support the programs and services of the historical society and maintain historic Richardson-Bates House Museum,” said Justin White, president of the society. “There is something for everyone and all are invited to come and enjoy this fun event.”
Tickets are $20 and will be available at the door the night of the event, and will also be available in advance by contacting the Richardson-Bates House Museum at 343-1342.
