FULTON, NY – Oswego County Opportunities, one of the top 10 largest private employers in Oswego County, recently welcomed six new staff members.
To ensure the success of the new employees OCO provides a thorough orientation session that acclimates employees to the history, mission and vision of the agency.
“We are very proud of our workforce,†said Jo-Lyn Phillips of OCO. “As an agency, we are dedicated to providing employees with the training and support they need to excel in their positions so they are well equipped to provide our consumers with the best service possible.â€
Phillips added that each month OCO partners with its new hires to present a comprehensive orientation session that offers in-depth information on the structure, programming and history of the agency.
“We have discussions about expectations, as well as, growth and training opportunities and how to pursue them. Our new hires also receive thorough training on mandated items such as HIPAA confidentiality, diversity and Right-to-Know. It’s a busy day that gives new hires the tools they need to build a successful career at OCO,†added Phillips.
OCO serves more than 24,000 people each year through more than 40 programs operating in over 45 locations throughout Oswego County.
The agency employs more than 650 people and has more than 1,000 highly valued volunteers.
OCO is a private, non-profit agency that has been supporting communities throughout Oswego County since 1966 and touches the lives of more than 20,000 people annually.
It is a United Way of Greater Oswego County member agency and offers a variety of services, including – Senior Services, Transportation, Mental Hygiene, Health, Youth, Services to Aid Families, and Children’s.
