“Mrs. Nesbitt gave us over 20 years of harbor stories with thousands of residents enjoying her spell binding tales. We felt it was important to continue to offer this program in her honor,” noted Mercedes Niess, executive director.

Several well known tales will be told but the audience will surely enjoy several new stories involving actual ship wrecks and disappearances.

A new tale recently revealed to Ms. Langenfeld-Rial, will be presented.

The evening will also include the story of the Oswego Lighthouse disaster.

“We are pleased to have Jonel Langenfeld-Rial stepping in as our storyteller for the evening. She is an experienced professional and professor of theatre and theatre in education at SUNY Oswego. Jonel has worked with the museum before on a variety of unique projects and regularly brings her students to the museum to perform a free storytelling program, which is offered each May to children. She brings a rich history of performance and storytelling experience to our annual tradition.” said Donna Kuhn, museum board president.

The program is proudly sponsored by Wayne’s Drugs, a longtime supporter of the tales program and the marine museum.
