5/15/2010 – TRANSIT CENTER AT MANAS, Kyrgyzstan — Every week, a member of the wing is selected as the Warrior of the Week. This individual is recognized based on outstanding performance, good conduct, work ethic, and most importantly, for a job well done.
Meet the Warrior of the Week. Tech. Sgt. Jamie McCarrison is a 376th Air Expeditionary Wing equal opportunity advisor deployed from Offutt AFB, Nebraska. She hails from Fulton, N.Y.
Here’s what Sergeant McCarrison has to say about herself and deployment to the Transit Center at Manas:
What do you do on a daily basis at Manas? I provide mission support through human relations education, informal assistance/referrals, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and complaint clarifications to 376th AEW Airmen.
What do you enjoy about being at Manas? I feel fully empowered to do my job. An empowering leadership style brings out the best in everyone.
Why did you choose to serve in the military? I was at a cross road in my life and thought the military would help me to figure out what I was best at. It has been a great 15 years.
How does what you do contribute to the GWOT mission?
The GWOT mission is a top priority in the Air Force. Working in a positive work environment is tantamount to the success of any organization.
By ensuring that people work in an environment free from discrimination or harassing behavior the Air Force will be best equipped to achieve the ultimate goal of flying, fighting, and winning.
Family: Husband TSgt David McCarrison, two boys Brandon (10), and Daniel (4) and one hyper Border Collie Bradshaw.
Time at Manas: 3 months
Time in military: 15 years
Greatest accomplishment: My family. To me children represent the hope for a better tomorrow and I have two very amazing boys.
Goals you want to achieve or meet while at Manas: To have a positive influence on those I work for and with.
Hobbies: Reading and running.
