City of Fulton news:

  • Plans to build low-income apartments at the former Nestle Building #30 site in Fulton has been struck down, an announcement made during the Fulton Common Council meeting Tuesday, July 4. See full story here.
  • The Fulton Family YMCA will host a Charity Cornhole Tournament Aug. 5 in The Yard at Lakeview Lanes in Fulton. All proceeds will go toward YMCA programs for families and the community. See full story here.
  • The Health Foundation for Western and Central New York (HFWCNY) has awarded Fulton Block Builders (FBB) a grant for a Living History Tour on South 1st Street in Fulton. The “Go Local” program targets healthy-aging projects. See full story here.

City of Oswego news:

  •  A new board president and three board members were sworn in at the Wednesday, July 5 OCSD Board of Education meeting. See full story here.
  • The H. Lee White Maritime Museum recently joined Oswego County, the City of Oswego and the proposed Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council to host the “Getaway Gertie” commemoration on June 24. The event served as a public tribute to the lost crew of a B-24 Liberator bomber believed to have crashed into Lake Ontario during World War II training exercises. See full story here.
  • Oswego celebrated the Fourth of July with their annual parade on Sunday, July 2, followed by a block party and fireworks over the Oswego River in the evening. See full story here.

  • Oswego County libraries are kicking off the summer months with a summer reading program at public libraries in the county. Summer reading programs encourage kids to continue reading over the summer while allowing them to track their progress to win prizes.  See full story here.

  • Operation Oswego County (OOC) presented its Ally Award for 2023 to SUNY Oswego in recognition and appreciation of the vision, commitment and leadership exhibited by SUNY Oswego for the benefit of the student body and the Oswego County community, and for overseeing the workforce development board of Oswego County for 27 years.
