Francis A. Boyce, 84, of Fulton, died Thursday at home.
Born on October 14, 1925 to his parents John and Helen Boyce, he was a life resident of Fulton. Fran graduated from Fulton High School in 1944 and served in the U. S. Army during World War II with the 3rd Army under General George S. Patton in the European Theatre of Operations. He worked as manager of Montgomery Ward for 27 years. Fran along with Rev. William Brown was instrumental in establishing St. Luke Health Services in Oswego and he was administrator of the facility from 1974 to 1988. He has been president of its board of directors for many years and was currently serving in that position.
Fran was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Fulton and former trustee of Holy Family Church and Holy Family/St. Michael’s Church. He was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre and served on the board of directors for Catholic Charities for many years. Fran was a member of St. Joseph’s Council #254, Knights of Columbus in Fulton and had served as Grand Knight. He was also a member of the Fulton Historical Society, a former member of the retail merchants group of Fulton and former member of Beaver Meadows Golf Course in Phoenix. In his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf with very dear friends at various courses in the area.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Jeannine (Mayback) Boyce of Fulton; a sister, Sarah Jane Johnson of Central Square; nephews, James (Kathy) Johnson of SC, Lyle Johnson of Syracuse and Kevin (Debbie) Boyce of MN; three grandnephews and a great-grandniece. He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother, James Boyce.
Prayer services will be held 9:00 AM Monday at Foster Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 AM Monday at the Church of the Holy Trinity, corner of Rochester and South Third Streets, Fulton. Burial is at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fulton. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 PM Sunday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the St. Luke John Foster Burden Fund, Inc., 299 East River Road, Oswego 13126 or to other favorite charities.

Prayers are with the family. I worked at Montgomery Wards in different departments when Mr. Boyce was the manager of the store. He was a great boss.
