HANNIBAL, NY – Michael L. James, 71, of Fair Haven, passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2016, at Oswego Hospital.
He was born on September 10, 1944, in El Paso, Texas, a son to the late Ernest and Julia Thomas James.
Michael was a member of Fair Haven Calvary Baptist Church.
He loved to umpire baseball, fish, sit by the lake and kids.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert James.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife, Beverly; three children, Jennifer Tyson of Syracuse, David (Jennifer) James of Fair Haven and Christopher (Christina) James of Liverpool; six grandchildren, Terrianne, Connor, Cohlton, Joshua, Justin and Jenna; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 3, from noon to 2 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m.
Burial will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn, NY.

I will miss you more than you know Mike. I have been blessed to have met you and to have had you be a part of my every working day from greeting me in the mornings as I walked in to teasing me most of the day. You made my job worth while.-Not many would dig through the candy basket to make sure I get my favorite dark chocolates. I will miss you at Thanksgiving and know that you’ll be there in spirit.-Who will I bring my leftovers too? God bless you Mike. I hope to see you again someday.
