  4. Shelley,

I’m so shocked and saddened by this. Chris was my first intern. His career at WRVO speaks for itself with all the awards he and his news department received through the years. I will always remember the enjoyable times we had during our yearly get togethers at the AP Awards ceremony. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  7. Dear Shelley,
I was so sorry to learn that Chris passed away. I’ll always remember the many times I worked with Chris on WRVO and how much I learned about radio news from him. The AP and Syracuse Press Club awards that we won together still grace my wall and will continue to serve as reminders of his best days.

  8. I was also an intern for Chris and kept in touch with him after leaving SUNY-Oswego and WRVO. He helped me in my career immensely and always was there with an ear and a thought, when called upon. I wish you the best and hope you can make it through this difficult time with the help of all of those who Chris touched and meant so much to.

  9. May peace comfort your family, you ladies are in my thoughts and prayers. Chris was one of the most interesting men I have ever met. Peace

  12. Very sorry to hear about your loss. Chris was News Director when I started at WRVO many years ago. He was a great guy and often talked about his family. I sure my experience could be repeated with other news staffers dozens of times over.

  13. Shelley – So sorry to hear about Chris, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. When my husband Mike was sick he would always check on him and that meant alot. Once again, sorry for your loss

  14. Shelley, Charity, Lindsey, Hillary and family,

I am so incredibly sorry to hear this news. Chris was a terrific mentor to me at WRVO for three years beginning with my freshman year in 1999. He let me on the air at 18! I’ll never forget it. Your family is in my thoughts.

    Mike

  15. I was another intern of Chris’. From 1987-1990 and have nothing but great memories.

Chris was a great news director. His ‘baby’ when I was there was Midday. And he did a great job of that.

He tought me tons. I am very saddened by the news.

Shelly, I actually met you at a WRVO Christmas Party. December 1988 at the Captains Lounge. I’m very sorry for your loss. Praying for you and your family.

  16. Shelly,

I am saddened to hear of Chris’ passing. Chris taught me so much as an intern and I owe my broadcasting career to him. I was fortunate to know Chris as a friend and fellow colleague after graduation. He was immensely talented, which was only surpassed by his willingness to teach others.

My thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Chris’s passing. My thoughts are with you and your family.

  20. Sorry for your loss. He was a good guy, I remember seeing him at the IGA a year or a year and a half ago, and he was asking about how everybody in our family was doing and I could tell he was really interested where we were and what we were doing since we had graduated. Thinking of you and your family, and keeping you in our prayers Lindsay.

  21. Shelly and family;
Our prayers are with you and family. May God bless you at this difficult time.
Chris’s sincere interest in people and community will be missed.

  22. Shelley, Charity, Lindsey and Hillary,

Look at all the people who’s lives he impacted. And for each one who took the time to write a note, there may be 25 others who are still thinking of him, and what he did for them in his time. I can’t stop thinking about all the fun our two families had together, because Chris and I (and you all) were (and are) friends. The happy times and fun at The Shire and at the lake shore especially come to mind. Too many to mention, but we know they live on in our memories. See you soon. Love, Rob

  23. Dear Shelley, Charity, Lindsey and Hillary,

We are all deeply saddened by Chris’s passing and for the enormous loss to you and our whole family. He was an Uncle that I always admired and I have been touched by the outpouring from all above to learn just how many lives he impacted in such good ways.

Our thoughts are with all of you during these difficult times.

  24. Shelley, Elaine and I are so sorry to hear about Chris. I had great respect for him as a journalist, and he always seemed to have good information about everything that was going on in and around Oswego. He was also a very enjoyable and congenial guy. I still have a cassette tape he made for me of a live Grateful Dead concert. I had mentioned to him once that I liked the band and he went to the trouble of making the tape for me. He’ll be missed for the skilled journalist and nice guy that he was.

  25. I worked for Chris just a few months at WRVO. I was always impressed by his laid-back manner and his supportive way with student broadcasters. Shelley, you are in our prayers.

  26. Shelley,

Chris and I go all the way back to 7th grade in Junior High School. You may remember our close friendship for the many years which followed. I’m deeply saddened with the news of his passing. I am not surprised to read the beautiful messages and tributes written in his memory. He was truly a remarkable friend to me, that could never be equaled. You and the girls are in my thoughts and prayers.
