Oswego River report:
According to Larry Muroski of Larry’s Oswego Salmon Shop:
With the rain we received the end of last week, the water level took a jump to about 19,000cfs. It has dropped back to 16,100cfs as of this morning. With this level, most areas along the river are unfishable. If conditions continue to settle down, fishing behind the hotels is a suggested spot. Steelhead, rainbows and brown trout are taking spoons, stickbaits, bucktail jigs and egg sacs.
Salmon River report:
According to Whitaker’s Sport Shop & Motel:
On Monday lake effect snow showers moved through our area and we picked up another 6 inches of new snow. If you add that to what we got on Sunday night, we have roughly 10 inches on the ground at the shop. The heaviest of snow stayed south and west of us. Mild weather is expected over the next few days so keep an eye on the water levels (running at 1200cfs as of this afternoon). On Monday the few anglers we spoke with reported landing fish in the upper end of the river in Altmar under very light fishing pressure.
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
The run stayed quiet yesterday as I stared out the shack window into the silent snowfall. A few season pass holders fished the run on Sunday with limited success. I feel the run-off from snow melt along with the rain of Thursday and Friday may have pushed the fish around a bit. But as things settle down I expect the fishing to pick back up.
Oneida Lake report:
Changes in the weather have made for some unsafe conditions on the ice on Oneida Lake. With several inches of snow yesterday and temperatures for the next two days close to 50 degrees, anglers are urged to stay off the ice.
Sandy Pond report:

With the warmer temperatures and high winds we have had there are many areas of open water. Anglers are urged to stay off the ice as conditions are not safe at this time.
Winter Trail Report:

We have limited grooming with one machine still down. We hope to have it back by the weekend. Snow is thin on the Florence, Osceola end — groomed today. More snow cover on the north trail but creeks are open and running.
According to the Mexico Trail Riders Snowmobile Club:
After the last week of way above temperatures, we finally got some snow. We woke up to around eight inches of genuine lake effect, fluffy, beautiful snow on Monday morning. We received another four inches by 3 pm but it all settled leaving only about 6 inches on the ground. Palermo has more and New Haven slightly less. There is no base from previous snow, so if you go out, tread lightly. All the wet spots will be wet, so be careful. Once again temperatures are warm enough for a thaw today and Wednesday.
Cross-Country Skiing:
According to Hugh Quinn of the Osceola Tug Hill Ski Club:
With a couple of days of winter weather, we have received 6 inches in the last 48 hours. The trails are groomed with a 5-12 inch base and 12-20 inches through the woods with a packed powder/powder surface.
