The Bristol Hill U.C.C. on Rt. 3 in Volney will be hosting a Roast Pork Dinner to raise money for the restoration of the bell tower. This fundraiser dinner will be on Sunday December 13 from 12 noon to 5 P.M. Prices are: Adults $7, Children 6-12 $3.50, Children 5 and under – free.
Preparations are underway for a Holiday Bazaar Craft Show and Bake Sale to be held Friday and Saturday, December 4 and 5th at Bowen’s Corners United Methodist Church. Proceeds from this annual event are used to offset the expenses and programs of the church, which is located at 758 State Route 176, 3.5 miles west of Fulton. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On October 5, 2009, the Bristol Hill Church selected a contractor to begin work on manufacturing a replica of the original Church’s bell tower. Through grants provided by the Network to Freedom Trail and Heritage New York, the Bristol Hill Church has been steadily working to repair and bring back the traditional architectural look of the church building.
This year at the craft day there are seventeen different booths that can be visited. There will be many new gifts to choose from including a pine cone centerpiece, an advent calendar, Chai tea cup with white chocolate spoons, and a holiday pin.
