Ganga, musicians from West Bengal in India, will bring traditional folk music and villager-crafted instruments to SUNY Oswego in a 7 p.m. performance April 21 in Sheldon Hall ballroom.
Members of a brass ensemble from G. Ray Bodley High School practice before a giving a brief performance to the Fulton Board of Education on Tuesday. The group was on hand to promote Thursday’s concert by the school’s concert band and wind ensemble, which will feature a performance by the Boston Brass. The nationally-known brass quintet is in Oswego County this week giving concerts and working with school musicians. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the high school.
A weeklong SUNY Oswego residency for the Boston Brass, who have entertained audiences for more than 25 years, will crescendo with a March 27 concert in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
Decorated classical composer George Tsontakis will visit SUNY Oswego on March 24 as part of a continuing collaboration between Oswego’s Rob Auler and Le Moyne College’s Andrew Russo, both accomplished pianists who each will perform pieces in a Tsontakis tribute at both schools.
