SUNY Oswego and the Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School have begun a partnership designed to help pave the way to careers in science fields for inner-city teens.
Dr. Fehmi Damkaci, assistant professor of chemistry at Oswego, piloted the program in July with four students from the academy.
They approved two construction propositions by votes of 211-128 and 209-130.
“Obviously, we’re very pleased with the vote,” said Superintendent of Schools Bill Lynch. “This is a great opportunity for the community and the kids to continue to modernize our facilities.”
The Fulton Rotary Club honors outstanding students each month. These students have volunteered to help in many community activities, served as active members and officers in student government groups, and have achieved outstanding school grades.
The Fall sports teams were competitive not only in the field of competition, but also in the classroom.
