Legislature Recognizes Clerkin For 25 Years Of Service

The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee presents Janet Clerkin with a certificate of appreciation for her 25 years of service to the county. Clerkin is the Tourism and Public Information Coordinator with the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning. Haz Mat Teams from Two Counties Train at Novelis

<p>Members of the City of Fulton Fire Department Special Operations Team, outfitted in Level A hazmat suits, stride toward one of the drill stations at Novelis during a recent training to practice handling spills in the cumbersome protection.</p>Teams from two counties joined Novelis for a Sunday morning drill put together by R.A. Heath, Oswego County Fire Coordinator for Special Operations. “The county team drills regularly with Fulton and Novelis departments,” Heath said. “We invited the Onondaga County and Syracuse City teams to join us today so we could work together.

Cooperative Extension Presents Annual Report To County Legislature

Cornell Cooperative Extension Executive Director Paul Forestiere presented the agency’s 2009 annual report to the Oswego County Legislature during its November meeting. The report highlights developments in 4-H programs, agricultural marketing, farmer assistance, parenting classes, and other issues. Orwell Boil Water Order Is Lifted

Customers of the Orwell Town water system no longer need to boil their water before using it. Oswego County Public Health Director Dr. Dennis Norfleet announced today that test samples taken Thursday and Friday show the water is now safe to consume and use for cooking.
