“Sounds Of Brass” Entertains St. Luke Residents

St. Luke Health Services in Oswego was filled with the sweet sounds of jazz when the “Sounds of Brass” band visited to entertain residents. Composed of band members from across the county, “Sounds of Brass” offered a wide range of selections from contemporary favorites to familiar standards. Pictured are “Sounds of Brass” members Natalie Sturr and Ray Bratt. Other members of the group include Dave Brown, Dick Harper, Frank Bickle and Jim Meyers. The group performed a wide variety of favorites for residents of St. Luke Health Services.

Parish Seniors Enjoy “Christmas In July”

The Parish Senior Dining and Activity Center was filled with the glitter and magic of the Christmas season on Monday, July 27, for the second annual “Christmas in July” celebration. The site was beautifully decorated. Eleanor Jacobson and Julie Raner enjoyed playing Christmas carols for the twenty or so guests. There was a fun, but confusing, gift exchange game. A representative from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s office will be speaking to the Springbrook Seniors on consumer fraud issues as a part of Cuomo’s statewide Smart Seniors Program. Juanita Perez Williams, Assistant Attorney General from Cuomo’s Syracuse Office, will inform participants how to best avoid consumer scams that frequently target seniors, such as sweepstakes, mail orders, and identity theft.
