The Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series will visit Brewerton Speedway on Friday, August 7 for the Summit Motors 100. The event is sure to be hotly contested at the D-shaped Dirt Demon. The Empire State IMCA Modified Series race and ESDCA Mod Lite Championship will also be part of the sure to be action packed three division show of professional motorsports competition. Race time is set for 7:30 p.m.

Matt Sheppard Invades Fulton Speedway For Huge DIRTcar Modified Win

Sheppard started sixteenth on the grid and took the lead after an incredible 4-wide battle for the top spot on lap 18. The victory was nothing short of a miracle for Sheppard, as his No. 9 Extreme Lubricants Bicknell was severely overheating in victory lane and the rear end was glowing cherry red during the later stages of the event. Sheppard, a former track champion, last won at Fulton Speedway during the 2005 race season.

Local Runners Compete At Utica’s Boilermaker

122 runners from Oswego County competed Sunday in one of the world’s top road races, the 15K Boilermaker Run in Utica.  Central Square’s Jeremy West was the top local finisher, in 260th place out of more than 10,000 runners.
