Participants in Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s CYO Summer Program now have a better understanding of how to safely use the internet and avoid unpleasant experiences and unwanted attention thanks to a special presentation by counselors Shelley Merritt and Marjorie Storrs of Catholic Charities’ School Based Mental Health Program.
The Project Bloom Committee of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce recognized participants and sponsors of Project Bloom at a special Chamber Perc Club held July 16 at the river’s end bookstore.

The Washington Post recently published an appreciation of the life of Mark W. Tracz, the Fulton native who owned a minor league baseball team and worked hard to try to bring Major League Baseball back to the Washington, D.C. area.
Tracz died July 3 of tonsil cancer, the paper reported.

After a three year absence, the World of Outlaws will return to Fulton Speedway in New York this week on Tuesday, August 3 to wrap up the second East Coast swing of the season, which has taken the series to six different tracks in two states and two Canadian Provinces.

The Summer Sunset Concert Series will officially celebrate 75 years of free concerts on August 25th @ 7:00pm in Breitbeck Park. The Oswego City Band will present the concert under the direction of Donald Goodness.
One of the latest state budgets in New York history is likely to win final approval this week, according to State Senator Darrel Aubertine.
“It’s been frustrating for everyone, but I do think in the end we end up with a budget that’s much better than the budget that was originally proposed,” Aubertine (D-Cape Vincent) said Monday, before heading to Albany for Tuesday’s special session.
