Dam Operator Promises Cooperation with Investigation into Fisherman’s Death
Brookfield Power says it will cooperate fully with an investigation into an incident on the Oswego River near its Varick Dam Tuesday. Some fishermen said that no alarms sounded when the dam began spilling water into the river, though Oswego Police now say the alarms did sound. Four fishermen had to be rescued from the river; one died.
UPDATE: Oswego Police name the victim and a second fisherman, who’s in the hospital.
