Backstreet Books will host a very special event as they welcome local author Julia Becca for a book signing on Oct. 16.
Catholic Charities of Oswego County is helping families throughout Oswego County make their food dollars stretch a little further through their participation in the Food Sense Program.
The project will restore the quay wall of the West Terminal and allow for the installation of a new fender system.
Without the pier restoration, the dock will eventually become unusable for the freighters that call the Port’s bulk terminal.
This project is critical to the continuation of a significant portion of the business operations at the Port of Oswego.

The Oswego County Board of Elections reminds residents that the last date that new voter registrations can be filed in person is Friday, Oct. 8. New registrations sent in the mail must be postmarked by Oct. 8 and received by Oct. 13.

Virginia A. Dain passed away on Saturday Sept. 25, 2010, at age 92. Virginia, known to many as “Tiny,†was born on May 1, 1918, to Charles L. Dain and Geneva Galvin Dain.

Four people were rescued after being swept away by fast-moving high water in the Oswego River earlier this afternoon. Two of the victims were pulled out of the water near the Bridge Street Bridge. The other two were rescued behind the former Coleman’s restaurant.
UPDATED Anthony Pauldine has opted for a non-jury trial. In Oswego City Court Tuesday he decided to let City Court Judge James Metcalf review the transcripts from the trial held earlier this spring. That trial ended in a hung jury. We thought that it was going to be very difficult to get a jury that had not been influenced and or had some run in with the past trial, his lawyer said.
