Dowd’s House of Flowers Donates to ARC Gala

Holly Ross, at Dowd's House of Flowers, will be coordinating the donation of centerpieces for ARC of Oswego County's annual Gala fundraiser next week.  The Gala, held at Oasis at Thunder Island in Fulton on October 16, raises funds to support services for individuals with disabilities in Oswego County.  Tickets are $50 per person and are available by calling (315) 598-3108 or by emailing scrowley@oswegoind.org.Holly Ross, at Dowd’s House of Flowers, will be coordinating the donation of centerpieces for ARC of Oswego County’s annual Gala fundraiser next week.

Sheriff’s Deputy Receives Award

Oswego County Traffic Safety Board recently presented a Safety Champion Award to Deputy Brian Wills for his dedication to traffic safety and hard work on the job with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Dept. Every year, the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee honors outstanding officers in Oswego County. Oswego Lions Support Law Enforcement

The Oswego Lions Club presents Sheriff Reuel Todd with a check for $240 to help provide "child safety materials" for 100 children. These materials help with a vital program which will assist them in teaching child safety as well as violence prevention and drug awareness. October is Head Start Awareness Month

Head Start Preschool students in the Phoenix 1 classroom work together during a cooking activity.  During the activity Simon Wilcox and Dylan Abbott learned how to make pasta from scratch.  October is Head Start Awareness month.  Provided at no cost, Head Start Preschool includes education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to children and their families.  Applications for enrollment are accepted year round. For more information please call 598-4711 or 1-800-359-1171.These programs are responsible for operating more than 48,000 classrooms in every state and practically every county in the country. Since 1999, more than 4,400 children have been students of Head Start Preschool in Oswego County.
